LeadingAge PA extends a warm welcome to our two newest board members, Nick Vizzoca and Rebecca Young.

The 2019 Paid College Internship Program is open and accepting applications. This intent of this program is to provide current and future workplace support to the senior living field by enhancing the professional experiences and igniting the passion for servant leadership in future long-term care professionals in multi-disciplines throughout a member organization.

The Pennsylvania departments of Human Services, Health, and Aging are working collaboratively to operate Pennsylvania's Long-Term Care (LTC) Grant Program for use of federally imposed civil money penalty (CMP) funds. They will be accepting applications for the LTC Grant Program beginning November 1, 2018 through December 1, 2018. Additionally, a webinar will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to discuss Pennsylvania's LTC Grant Program process.

Marvell Adams, Jr., Executive Director/CEO of Kendal's metro Washington, D.C.-area affiliate Collington, has been named The Kendal Corporation's Chief Operating Officer. He will succeed Judy Braun, who retired in July as COO after 17 years with Kendal. Adams will transition to the position over the next few months while Collington conducts a search for a new top executive.

Recently, LeadingAge PA member Rolling Fields, a Heritage Elder Care Community in Crawford County, was hit by a tornado. The independent living homes suffered extensive damage while the skilled care facility was also affected. In spite of the destruction, no serious injuries were reported.
