Speakers

Nora Adelmann
Senior Vice President, Governance & Strategy ,The Kendal Corporation
Nora Adelmann is the Senior Vice President, Governance & Strategy for The Kendal Corporation, a nonprofit that leads a system of nonprofits serving older adults. The Kendal System consists of a corporate supporting organization, 13 affiliate organizations in eight states, and a foundation. The SVP role includes process leadership/facilitation and mentoring the System’s affiliate leaders and board members in governance/board development, strategic planning, public policy/advocacy, and preparation for accreditation. In more than 40 years in the field of aging, Nora has served as organizational development leader, nursing home administrator, public relations coordinator, marketing director, construction overseer, child day care administrator, employee education program developer, and special projects director. She has volunteered as a board member for LeadingAge PA and Friends Services Alliance and for community organizations. Nora earned a master’s degree in human resource management from Widener University, a master’s degree in planning/administration/policy development from Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, and a bachelor’s degree in behavioral studies from Franklin and Marshall College.
Jane Mack
President/CEO, Friends Services Alliance
Jane Mack has served as the President/CEO of Friends Services Alliance since 2008. With more than 30 years of experience in the field of healthcare, her background includes expertise in program development, board and staff education, quality assurance and management. Through FSA, Jane supports the best practices, progress and success of senior care staff and boards nationwide, and helps them maintain a unique, values-based approach to their work with the aging population. Jane spearheaded the FSA Internship Program to connect young professionals to the opportunities of working within the senior living field; the FSA Leadership Institute, an intensive experiential retreat for emerging leaders in the field; and the Values Summit, a member symposium designed to guide organizations through methods of making their Quaker values accessible for staff and persons served. Jane works closely with executive teams and governing boards to assist in matters of board and organizational development, oversight, conflicts of interest, and board and staff role clarity. She served as a consultant and Peer Reviewer for the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofits Organizations Standards for Excellence Program and was a member of the statewide Standards for Excellence Committee. She teaches graduate level coursework in organizational systems at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. Jane holds a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. in Organizational Development and Leadership from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
