Awards & Scholarships
We are proud to recognize the dedicated individuals selected to receive LeadingAge PA awards and scholarships in 2018. Some have already made tremendous contributions to the field of aging services, and others will have the opportunity to begin their journey this year. We are proud of all of them, as well as of the many unsung heroes at our member organizations who work hard every day to enhance the lives of Pennsylvania seniors.

2018 Education Scholarship Recipients

Administrator-in-Training Scholarship Recipient
LeadingAge PA is pleased to award a scholarship to one provider member that hosts an administrator-in-training candidate in a Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators-approved program. The $25,000 scholarship helps to support the member organization with developing leaders in senior living.
In 2018, Asbury Heights, a UPMC Senior Community, was awarded the AIT scholarship. Its candidate, Todd Heitz, is driven by his desire to make a difference in the lives of the community's residents. Heitz said, "in this role, I can be part of a bigger change that can inspire positive experiences for residents, for many years to come."
LeadingAge PA offers paid college internships at member organizations to help promote interest in pursuing a career in nonprofit senior services. We are happy to announce the four winners of the LeadingAge PA $6,000 internship awards for 2019.

- Simpson Senior Services - Social Work
Since its inception, LeadingAge PA's Paid College Internship program has provided 12 college students with the opportunity to work at one of our member communities to gain exposure to, and an understanding of, the career possibilities in aging services. To date, 25% of the former interns are pursuing careers in long-term care.
