Through the LeadingAge PA Foundation, we are committed to promoting the advantages of working in senior services, as well as to providing our members with resources to attract and retain quality employees. In 2021-2022, we will award a $50,000 grant to one member community to employ an Administrator-in-Training (AIT) during their 2021-2022 training period.

The AIT program is a supervised internship during which the AIT works under the guidance and supervision of a preceptor, who is a licensed administrator, meeting the qualifications established by the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators. The purpose of an AIT program is to enhance the professional development of the AIT in the field of long-term care administration. The experience equips the AIT with the tools and knowledge needed for a profession as an administrator.

The LeadingAge PA Administrator-in-Training Grant is available to LeadingAge PA provider members who:

  • Are currently approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators for an Administrator-in-Training Program.
  • Agree to communicate with a selected group of LeadingAge PA representatives as to the status and progress of your program during the award period.
  • Have not received a LeadingAge PA AIT Grant award within the past 24 months.
