This webinar will include a discussion of specific tasks and areas of expertise required by the Business Office Manager and staff, including: MA application issues, MA appeals, Social Security Representative Payee issues, 3rd Party Payor issues, DHS's restrictions for billing against the PPL, the Medicare 3-Day Rule and Appeals, admissions process and documents, Intent to Discharge Notices, relationships with other government agencies, and debt collection laws, as well as the responsibilities of NHAs and CFOs.  It will also include a summary of relevant laws that affect and support a nursing facility as a creditor, actions that an attorney can take without damaging the Non-Profit organization's reputation and goals, and common scenarios that all nursing facilities encounter when a resident's account is aging.

 Attendees will:

· Understand the factors that degrade ability to maintain an effective Accounts Receivable program and Admissions process. 

· Receive strategies to maximize reimbursement from  Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Pay Resident accounts. 

· Learn techniques to handle specific types of problem resident accounts receivable and “stop the bleeding” on these accounts.
