Policy & Advocacy

Impacting senior living policy in PA and advocating for our members is at the heart of what we do here at LeadingAge PA.

It's written into our vision: To serve as the preeminent advocate for facilitating change and inspiring members to positively impact the field of aging services in Pennsylvania.

Our Government Affairs team works on the state and federal levels to influence and affect Pennsylvania's legislative and administrative processes in order to further our vision. We identify key issues that impact our members and the seniors they serve, and we advocate and educate on their behalf for public policy initiatives that support individual rights, quality care, equitable access and reimbursement for long-term care providers and the seniors in their communities. To see how we are advocating on your behalf, check out our scorecard that lists the initiatives and statuses of our efforts.

We're also deeply committed to providing members with the information and education necessary to evolve with the ever-changing landscape of senior services and care, from government programs like Community HealthChoices to the newest regulations.

We can't do it alone. We need you to join us by taking action on the issues that impact your retirement living organizations and residents. You don't need to be an expert to be a voice for the issues you care about. You just need to participate, whether that means meeting with a government official or supporting the LeadingAge PA Political Action Committee.

From advocating for sensible public policy to working toward compliance with new regulations in senior living, we all have the same goal: to better serve older adults in Pennsylvania. Together, we can make it happen.
