We've all heard it a thousand times: It's the people, not the place, that are the heart and soul of a community. At LeadingAge PA, we're committed to supporting our members in creating cultures that engage and empower their senior living workforces and promote an optimal working environment, resulting in high-quality care, innovation and increased employee satisfaction and retention. Below, you'll find resources, podcasts and articles designed to help you solve your senior living staffing issues and build a workforce of individuals who feel heard and valued.

College Internship Partnerships

In an effort to increase awareness about career opportunities in nonprofit senior services among young professionals, LeadingAge PA has developed college internship partnerships between several leading Pennsylvania colleges and universities and LeadingAge PA members that are recognized for their innovation. The goal of these partnerships is not just to provide a rewarding internship for the chosen college students but also to offer development opportunities that enhance their knowledge of nonprofit senior services and inspire a passion to pursue a career in this rewarding, yet often overlooked, field. We are pleased to continue cultivating the partnerships between these organizations:

  • Waverly Heights and Penn State
  • UPMC Senior Communities and the University of Pittsburgh
  • Living Branches and Drexel University
  • Garden Spot and Lebanon Valley College
