  • Update to the definition of “up to date” with COVID-19 vaccines including boosters

    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is reframing what it means to be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination. An individual is “up to date” if they have completed a primary series and received the most recent booster dose recommended by CDC. Click here for more information.
  • LeadingAge provides vaccination mandate tools & resources

    LeadingAge is gathering the most up-to-date resources on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Interim Final Rules mandating COVID-19 vaccination for organizations with more than 100 employees and all staff in CMS-certified settings. In partnership with Pathway Health, LeadingAge created a template of policy and procedures for the CMS Vaccine Mandate that nursing homes can use to outline elements of the plans required by the rules.   • BinaxNOW testing resources

    Nursing homes and personal care homes/assisted living residences in yellow and red positivity areas should be receiving BinaxNOW test kits from the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

  • New studies suggest vaccines are less effective against delta according to CDC

    September 16, 2021

    CDC released three new studies suggesting that as the delta spreads, vaccines are becoming less effective, although breakthrough infections are still rare. However, unvaccinated people face much higher risks of illness and death.
