Deming-Murphy to chair White Horse Village Board of Directors
(Newtown Square, Pa.) — White Horse Village has announced that Joan Deming-Murphy, CEO of JDM Consulting LLC, will serve as the next chair of the board of directors. She takes over the role from the previous chair, Michael Hammond, who remains on the board for the nonprofit senior living community based in Edgmont. Board member Stephanie Cory has been named vice chair.
“It’s an honor to be named chair of the board of this vibrant and active community,” Deming-Murphy says. “This is an exciting time as we initiate the start of our Secretariat plan, a multi-phase long-term plan that aims to enhance and reimagine our space for our residents. I am filled with optimism as we continue to look strategically at our future, working closely with both residents and the board.”
In addition, Terry Gallagher, a project manager with TPD Inc., a transportation engineering firm, has also joined the board. Gallagher has spent almost two decades in construction and engineering, and currently coordinates projects related to bridge infrastructure in the region. He was a senior construction specialist with McCormick Taylor, and vice president of estimating for Ram-T Corporation, which worked with departments of transportation in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Gallagher lives in East Brandywine Township and volunteers in Chester County, delivering furniture and household supplies to families.
“I’m honored to join the Board of Directors at White Horse Village and grateful for the opportunity to give back in a meaningful way,” Gallagher says. “I look forward to supporting the continued growth, innovation and vitality of this exceptional community.”
“Joan has been an engaged and insightful board member, and we are excited that she is lending her leadership talents as chair,” says Michael Shaw, White Horse Village president and CEO. “We’re also excited that Terry has agreed to join the board. With a number of important construction projects underway, his expertise in the construction industry is most welcome.”
Other board members include Anthony Buividas, Angela Davenport-Shakur, Al Deana, Ken Frantz, Michael Hammond, Cheryl Kiley, Catherine Mikus, Steve Videon, and residents Norm Ledwin, MaryLou McLaughlin and Ursula Siebeneich.
