Professional Development Scholarships

Scholarship Highlights

LeadingAge PA is proud to continue supporting the growth of professionals in Pennsylvania’s aging services sector through our Professional Development Scholarships. These scholarships are designed to help staff advance their careers while strengthening the workforce that serves older adults every day.

Highlights

  • Up to $40,000 will be awarded to recipients in 2025.  
  • Employees of LeadingAge PA member communities are invited to apply.
  • Scholarships may be applied toward degrees, certifications, continuing education, and professional training programs.
  • Recipients must submit proof of program completion within 15 days of completing the program. If requirements are not met, funds must be returned.

Evaluation Criteria

Scholarship applicants are evaluated on their commitment to aging services, the alignment of their educational goals with workforce needs, and their potential for long-term impact within the sector.

Application Process

  1. Complete the online application form.
  2. Submit required supporting documents (including recommendation form and proof of enrollment/acceptance).
  3. Applications will be reviewed by the LeadingAge PA Scholarship Committee.
  4. Awardees will be notified after the review and selection process.

Application Components

  • Completed application form
  • Recommendation form (submitted separately)
  • Proof of enrollment in an eligible program
  • Personal statement outlining career goals and the impact of the scholarship
  • UPON PROGRAM COMPLETION, proof of completion will be required within 15 days of the program's last day. If the program extends beyond a year (i.e., a two- or four-year degree program), please provide proof of completion at the end of each semester.
    • If proof of completion is not provided or the recipient withdraws, LeadingAge PA Foundation will require that the funds be returned within 15 days of the last day of the program or withdrawal date from the program, whichever is applicable.

Eligible Programs

  • Degree programs (associate, bachelor’s, master’s)
  • Professional certifications and licenses
  • Continuing education courses
  • Training programs that build workforce capacity in aging services
