The Purchase of Mount Joy Country Homes by Pleasant View Communities is Official

MANHEIM, PA — As of September 2, 2025, the purchase of Mount Joy Country Homes by Pleasant View Communities is official with the state of Pennsylvania. Pleasant View purchased Mount Joy Country Homes from Messiah Lifeways.

“At Pleasant View, we are excited about the opportunity to expand our mission and welcome the Mount Joy community into our family,” said Jonathan Hollinger, President & CEO of Pleasant View Communities. “Many MJCH residents have already engaged with our services, and we look forward to deepening those relationships and offering even more resources close to home.”

Mount Joy Country Homes has 80 independent living cottages on 31 acres. Pleasant View is now accepting applications for the several cottages that are currently available.

The cottages are not included in the continuum of care at Pleasant View but offer another option for seniors looking to downsize and to be free of property maintenance. The community features an on-campus library, fitness studio, community room, support services, and a resident-led calendar of activities.

Residents of Mount Joy Country Homes can also enjoy the amenities at Pleasant View, including the fitness center & pool, Hearth & Harrow restaurant, Hope Served Cafe, Kreider Farms Cultural Center (event space & Manheim Community Library), Esther’s Collectibles Thrift Boutique, hair salon, wood shop, and recreation courts.
