Cross Keys Village Celebrates Groundbreaking for Hearthside Expansion

May 7, 2026

NEW OXFORD, Pa. (April 23, 2026) — Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community today celebrated the groundbreaking of its Hearthside expansion, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s continued growth and commitment to high-quality senior living.

Residents, local officials, project partners, and community leaders gathered at the Cross Keys Village campus for the ceremony, which included remarks, a ceremonial blessing, and an official shovel turning to commemorate the start of construction.

“Hearthside offers the kind of vibrant, connected lifestyle that today’s senior adults are seeking,” said President & CEO Beverly Asper. “This expansion allows us to meet increasing demand while continuing to invest in our community that prioritizes vitality and wellbeing, engagement, and peace of mind.”

Board Chair Karl Lehman and other Cross Keys Village leaders joined in recognizing the importance of the expansion, which reflects both regional growth and evolving expectations for senior living options.

Additional attendees that participated in the groundbreaking ceremony included Oxford Township Supervisor, HRG Civil Engineering, Mowery Construction, and SFCS Architects.

The Hearthside neighborhood currently includes 50 homes, with the expansion designed to welcome an additional 40 new homes upon completion, anticipated in 2027. The project underscores Cross Keys Village’s long-term commitment to providing thoughtfully designed homes and fostering a strong sense of community.

With strong early interest, more than half of the new residences have already been reserved, highlighting the appeal of maintenance-free living within a trusted, established community.

The event also provided the opportunity for the future residents to meet their new neighbors, key team members, board members, and project partners.

Hearthside offers thoughtfully designed homes and a vibrant lifestyle in a community with a trusted history. Entrance fees start at $313,100.  Information Sessions to learn more are planned for Wednesday, May 20, at 10:00 AM; Wednesday, June 24, at 10:00 AM; and Thursday, June 25, at 10:00 AM.
