LeadingAge PA Foundation Invests in Workforce and Leadership Development Through Grant Program
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (October 7, 2026) — LeadingAge PA today announced the nine recipients of its 2027 workforce development grants to help member communities strengthen career pathways in aging services.
Eight providers will each receive $6,000 to support paid internships, and through a partnership with the Saunders House Foundation, one provider will receive $60,000 to host an Administrator in Training (AIT). The internship grants fund paid, eight- to ten-week positions for students, while the AIT grant supports up to 24 months of comprehensive training for future nursing home administrators.
“As Pennsylvania’s older adult population continues to grow, it is essential that we are building a strong pipeline of talented professionals prepared to lead and serve in our communities,” said LeadingAge PA President & CEO Garry Pezzano. “These investments in internships and Administrator in Training opportunities give our members a chance to showcase their rewarding careers and help develop the next generation of professionals who will serve older adults across the commonwealth.”

- Homewood at Martinsburg – Blair County
- Peter Becker Community – Montgomery County
- Waverly Heights – Montgomery County
- Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community – Montour County
- Rouse Estate – Warren County
- Redstone – Westmoreland County
2027 Administrator-in-Training Grant Recipient
- Philadelphia Protestant Home – Philadelphia County
These initiatives are made possible through the LeadingAge PA Foundation, which supports education, workforce development, and innovation in aging services, as well as the association’s partnership with the Saunders House Foundation.
