Morningstar Living’s President & CEO, Susan Cooper Drabic, Retires After 36 Years of Service

 

NAZARETH, Pa. (June 28th, 2023) – After more than 36 years leading Morningstar Living, Susan Cooper Drabic is retiring as President and CEO. 

Throughout her career with the organization, Sue’s unwavering commitment to improving the quality of lifestyle choices, healthcare services, and programs for older adults has propelled Morningstar Living to be the premier provider of these services in the Lehigh Valley. During her tenure with Morningstar Living, Sue directed the organization through many ambitious renovation and land development projects to improve housing, hospitality and healthcare services for older adults. Sue’s strategic vision has shaped Morningstar Living’s physical landscape and enriched the lives of its residents. Sue’s commitment to providing top-quality healthcare services has resulted in regional and national recognition for best in nursing care, rehabilitation services, personal care, and dementia care...making Morningstar Living a trusted name in senior housing and healthcare services.

Morningstar Living and Moravian Manor Communities, a sister community in Lititz, PA, are forming an affiliation to work together in a more formal way. As of July 1st, 2023, David Swartley will become the Interim President & CEO of both Moravian Manor Communities and Morningstar Living. David will assume the title of President & CEO as soon as the legal affiliation is officially completed, likely during August or September 2023. David has been employed at Moravian Manor for 32 years, the last 15 of which he has served as President & CEO. 

Sue will remain with Morningstar Living through September to assist with this transition. A full celebration in honor of Sue is planned for early October.

Morningstar Senior Living, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Nazareth, PA. In 1988 the organization opened the first Life Plan Community in Northampton County, Moravian Hall Square. The community provides residential accommodations, assisted living, and skilled nursing care for people aged 62+. Morningstar Living is currently building a second campus, Heritage Village, in Upper Nazareth Township. The first residents moved into this cottage community in the spring of 2018. Today Phases 1, 2, 3, and 4 are complete. Phase 5 is currently under construction, with the final Phase 6 in the sales process. Once Phase 6 is built, the 50+ acre campus will be complete. Morningstar Living also owns and operates Senior Solutions, a Home Care business located in Nazareth, providing services to people who choose to remain in their own homes.
