Austin Cawley

Q: What is your favorite holiday and why?

A: The Fourth of July! Since I was a history education and political science major in college, it's natural that I choose the observance that celebrates the founding of our country.

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: My grandfather always told me, "Work smarter, not harder." He was a big influence on me.

Q: What unusual food combinations do you really enjoy?

A:  Pickles and cheese. It's not a sandwich, though. I like to wrap kosher baby dill pickles in Clearfield white American cheese.

Q: Who is the most famous person you have encountered? What were they like?

A: As a long-time baseball player, I was excited when I met Sandy Koufax, former pitcher for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers! He was gracious and gave me his autograph.

Q: If you had to pick a new name for yourself, what name would you pick?

A:  My middle name, Wayne. Not only am I named after my grandfather, but the name also reminds me of John Wayne and old westerns.
