As behavioral health challenges among older adults become more prevalent, housing and aging services providers are on the front lines of response. This timely session explores how mental health and substance use issues impact residents’ well-being, housing stability, and overall quality of life.

Attendees will gain practical strategies to identify at-risk residents, connect them with appropriate community resources, and build stronger partnerships with local mental health systems, crisis programs, and Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs). The session also addresses common barriers—such as Medicare limitations—and offers actionable steps to improve access to behavioral health services for older adults.
