Building Sustainable Wound Care Systems Across Shifts- Webinar

Consistent wound prevention requires more than knowledgeable clinicians; it requires reliable clinical systems. In long-term care, variation across admissions, shifts, handoffs, documentation, escalation, and reassessment can contribute to preventable skin breakdown and make otherwise appropriate care difficult to demonstrate during a survey.

This practical session examines wound care through the lens of system reliability rather than isolated clinical tasks. Participants will learn a simple Prevent → Stabilize → Return to Prevention framework and explore practical approaches for the first 72 hours after admission, clearer documentation of clinical reasoning, frontline escalation triggers, and closed-loop reassessment. The session will emphasize strategies that reduce unnecessary complexity, strengthen interdisciplinary communication, and create processes capable of surviving staffing and leadership changes. Participants will leave with a practical framework for improving consistency, clinical decision-making, and survey readiness without simply adding more education or paperwork.
