After the annual inspection at Granite Farms Estates, Brian Levesque, Executive Director of Normandy Farms Estates, took the time to review three citations he felt were unfounded and unreasonable. Once Brian deliberated over the citations, he turned to Anna Warheit to discuss his interpretation and any possible recourse they might have: “Although the inspection went relatively well, there were three deficiencies that we disagreed with,” Brian said. Recognizing that there was not a formal appeal process to go through, I reached out to Anna for assistance.”

Three things we are told not to discuss in polite company are religion, politics, and money, which makes talking about contributing to a political action committee a challenging conversation. However, it’s an important - and necessary - conversation to have with fellow LeadingAge PA members, board members, and staff.

April showers bring May flowers! And our workforce has been in the “shower” stage for quite a while. For the first time in recent memory, it’s not only the health care sector struggling with staffing, it’s everyone. Though this makes things remarkably more difficult, it also gives us the opportunity to learn from each other and form partnerships to address our challenges.

Often when we think of the terms sponsor, exhibitor, or business member, we immediately recall logos on the lanyards, tote bags, and signage for an event. While these visual reminders are impactful, LeadingAge PA is fortunate the relationships we have with our sponsors and business members transcend the visual impact--we have built true partnerships.

One of our favorite things about the new year is wrapping up our annual Member Calendar and sending it out to all of our members to share in their communities! Our communications and member services teams begin meeting as early as July to plan the new theme and call for submissions.
