Although March 5 is National Employee Appreciation Day, it's never too late to express your appreciation to employees and recognize their hard work and dedication--especially through these unprecedented times. Here are some ways you can "Share Your Heart" and boost morale among staff.

Host an All-Employee Virtual Social Hour

One of the biggest struggles during the pandemic is social isolation. What better way to get your staff interacting with one another? This gives employees the opportunity to catch up with each other outside of the day-to-day office talk and get to know one another on a more personal level. It's a great way to share some laughs, build camaraderie, and remind everyone that we are in this together.

Weekly/Monthly Employee Spotlight

Congratulating different staff members on their accomplishments, big or small, can be a great way of letting your employees know how much you value them. Not only does this give your staff a chance to be recognized by management and their peers for their hard work and successes, but it can also boost morale and help improve work ethic.

With the increased number of people experiencing mental health difficulties as we face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, it is important that companies acknowledge the need for a "brain break" or day off. This gives employees time to reset and refocus, which ultimately can lead to increased productivity upon returning to work.

You don't have to invest a lot of time or money to show your appreciation to staff.
