"Always, Forward" Communication is Key

It's been a crazy year and a half.

Most of you are thinking that's putting it lightly, as we know our members have all rolled with the punches and adapted as quickly as possible to continue providing quality care and serve their communities. Our team at LeadingAge PA have made it our top priority to listen with attentive ears and open hearts to understand the needs and provide the right resources at the right time. From offering opportunities to earn education credits through virtual events when we could not be together, to tireless advocacy efforts for critical support during this crisis--we have strengthened our connection with members to ensure we're hearing their needs and delivering.

Communication is key, now more than ever.

Member Update Emails & Calls

In the early days of the pandemic, we recognized the need for the format and frequency of our Association communications to change. Information was released several times a day, policies and regulations were pivoting multiple times a week, and it was difficult for us all to keep up. Our team began sending two regular emails each week to members, along with member alerts when it was important to get information out immediately. We also created the weekly Member Update Call with our senior leadership and partner, ECRI.

As we move through the seasons of coronavirus in Pennsylvania, the communication frequency for members continues to evolve. We found one weekly update is now sufficient through the survey responses of engaged members, though there was an even divide in the preferred format. Some like the concise bulleting of the Friday member update email, while others enjoy the newsletter feel of the Tuesday email.

So we're giving you both - in one email, once a week.

Beginning this month, members will find their weekly Member Update email on Thursday with a button right at the top of the email that opens Government Affairs news bullets, as you see to the right. In addition, we recognize the continued interest in the member update calls, even as the frequency has changed. Going forward, we are pleased to offer these calls monthly.

New Website

Our team is anxiously waiting to roll out the new LeadingAge PA website this fall! We have been working hard with our partner, Results Direct, to build on a new platform and design an intuitive, user-friendly website. Members will easily find all of the resources they depend on...and some exciting new features. We can't give away the milk just yet, but check out the fuzzy sneak peek to the right!

Social Media

There's always room for improvement in the world of social media and finding the right voice for the Association to best engage with members has been a priority for our team. We invested in two enthusiastic, highly-skilled communications and marketing interns in their senior year to support our research, testing, and development of a social media strategy we're excited to implement. Look forward to some fun new campaigns later this year!

LeadingAge PA has served members with a dedicated and driven staff for 58 years through the ever-changing landscape and challenges of the senior services industry. And we're not slowing down. Just like the theme for the 2022 Member Calendar, we are "Always, Forward."
