LeadingAge PA Highlights New Career Center During Workforce Development Month to Strengthen Aging Services Workforce
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (September 3, 2025) — LeadingAge PA, the statewide association representing mission-driven aging services providers, is highlighting its newly launched Career Center this Workforce Development Month as part of its Careers to Love campaign. The platform is designed to help combat Pennsylvania’s growing workforce crisis in aging services, offering a resource for both employers and job seekers.
The Career Center simplifies workforce efforts by connecting providers with quality candidates who’ve shown an interest in healthcare, hospitality, administration, and other roles. Meanwhile, job seekers can access opportunities across many areas of interest and experience levels, from nursing and therapy to hospitality, administration, and leadership. Most notable is that proceeds from job postings support the LeadingAge PA Foundation’s education fund, which provides scholarships and career development opportunities for individuals pursuing careers in aging services.
“The workforce crisis is one of the greatest challenges for our members, particularly as the older population rapidly outpaces the working-aged population,” said LeadingAge PA Director of Member Engagement & Workforce Solutions Erin McDermott. “The Career Center is more than a job board; it’s an investment in the future of our sector. By connecting providers with motivated candidates and reinvesting proceeds into scholarships and education, we’re helping strengthen the pipeline of professionals dedicated to caring for older adults. I urge anyone who’s considering their options to strongly consider working in this field; a career in aging services is an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.”
For those already working in the sector, the impact is clear. “What I enjoy most about my career in aging services is the relationships I’ve built and the stories I’ve been able to share in this work,” said Baptist Senior Family CRM and Marketing Specialist Donald Turner Jr., LNHA. “Every day, I have the privilege of learning from older adults who have lived such full and meaningful lives, and that perspective is something I carry with me in everything I do. It’s meaningful to me because this sector is about more than care; it’s about respect, connection, and creating communities where people feel valued and supported at every stage of life.”
Job seekers are encouraged to explore opportunities and begin their career journey in aging services at CareerstoLove.org.
