LeadingAge PA issues statement on Biden mandate vaccines for nursing home workers

August 18, 2021

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Aug. 18, 2021)- LeadingAge PA President and CEO Adam Marles today issued the following statement on President Joe Biden's mandate that all nursing home workers be vaccinated:

"LeadingAge PA encouraged our members to mandate vaccination because it's the best way to keep both residents and staff safe, but we acknowledged the flexibility needed by individual providers to make choices based on their circumstances. We are supportive of the federal mandate but remain concerned about the negative impact this may have on an already worsening hiring crisis. The vaccines are safe -- and they work. Nothing is more important than the health and well-being of the older adults we serve."
