MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Feb. 2, 2022) - LeadingAge PA, the voice for senior services in Pennsylvania, today lauds Gov. Tom Wolf for his American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding proposal outlined in a press conference, which includes $250 million for long-term care.

"As the pandemic continues, LeadingAge PA is appreciative of Gov. Wolf's support for our long-term care facilities and their health care heroes with this funding," said LeadingAge PA Interim President and CEO Bob Bertolette. "This is a critical acknowledgment and a step in the right direction, though this one-time funding doesn't address the years of underfunded Medicaid reimbursement rates for long-term care. We look forward to working with our elected officials to best allocate this funding to support the recruitment and retention of staff during this ongoing workforce crisis."
