(Newtown Square, Pa.) — This year’s fourth annual White Horse Village Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraiser has raised $37,320, well surpassing its goal of $23,000. Since 2020, the nonprofit senior living community has consistently exceeded its fundraising goal, with donations totaling over $110,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter

The community’s annual walk tradition began in 2020 when the pandemic canceled the greater Philadelphia walk. Faced with a decline in fundraising, the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley appealed to White Horse Village to host a fundraising walk. The community’s first walk raised $18,001.

White Horse Village resident event leaders work hard to make the walk events fun, drawing hundreds of participants. A variety of sporting activities are available beyond the half-mile or mile walk, including swimming and exercise challenges. New for this year was a  rubber duck challenge race in the community’s aquatic center. Donations to this year’s walk can be made at http://act.alz.org/goto/whv until December 31, 2023.

“We are incredibly grateful to the planning team and all the supporters for making this event a great success,” comments Susan Abtouche, Vice President of Mission Enhancement. “As a community, we are passionate about this cause, and we look forward to hosting a walk each year to raise monies for Alzheimer’s disease research and awareness.”

White Horse Village’s Four Seasons Memory Care is a specialized neighborhood that cares for individuals with cognitive changes. Residents benefit from structured programming available in the neighborhood environment.
