Multiple publications recognize White Horse Village for excellence
(Newtown Square, Pa.) — When it comes to retirement communities, White Horse Village has a consistent reputation as one of the top destinations in the Philadelphia area.
Multiple publications have confirmed this again in recent months, with the continuing care retirement community for active seniors earning recognition from Philadelphia Magazine in February and the Philadelphia Inquirer in April.
Philadelphia Magazine named White Horse Village to its list of Top Senior Living communities for active seniors in 2025, a compilation it says is based on independent research on government ratings and community perception. And the Inquirer included the community as a Silver Winner in its annual “Philly Favorites” list, which recognizes top organizations and people in the city and surrounding areas based on reader voting.
The honor continued a string of recent acknowledgments for White Horse Village, which combines top-notch facilities with a scenic campus abutting Ridley Creek State Park. In 2024, White Horse Village was also recognized as Best Senior Community of the Main Line in Main Line Today magazine, Best of Chester County by Daily Local News, Best of Delaware County by the Delaware County Daily Times and as a Talk of the Town Favorite by the News of Delaware County.
“We’re honored that our local community continues to recognize the merits of White Horse Village,” says President & CEO Michael J. Shaw. “We uphold that reputation by a dedication to our culture, observing high ethical standards, maintaining a beautiful campus with a rural feel, and committing to an inspiring future through the Secretariat Plan.”
But don’t take Shaw’s word for it—ask the local community.
