White Horse Village Launches Campus Enhancements with Art, Celebration and Community Spirit
(Newtown Square, Pa.)—White Horse Village welcomed residents, team members, and guests on July 1 for a joyful celebration marking the launch of major campus improvement projects. The event, held at the porte cochère of the Clubhouse entrance, marked the official start of the community’s multi-phase Secretariat Plan, a long-term plan that aims to enhance spaces and services for current and future residents.
As a symbol of collaboration and community pride, residents and team members joined together to paint a mural on the surface of the soon-to-be-demolished porte cochère. The artwork honors the thousands who have passed through the front doors over the past 36 years and all who will walk through them in the years to come. Once the structure is removed, pieces of the painted surface will be offered as keepsakes.
President & CEO Michael Shaw opened the event with remarks recognizing the many hands and hearts that brought the project to life. “This is a celebration at the front door to our shared home,” Shaw said. “We’re creating art together as a reminder that we are all in this together—and that White Horse Village is what we make it.”
The event featured reflections from longtime and newer residents, including Barbara Dawson, who moved to the community in 1991, and Margie Saland, who helped organize the collaborative art project. Other speakers included leaders from across the White Horse Village team and community, each highlighting how the enhancements reflect the shared values of trust, inclusion, and investment in the future.
