Chief Operating Officer - Shenandoah Valley-Westminster Canterbury

 Deffet Group, Inc. is pleased to have been retained by Shenandoah Valley-Westminster Canterbury to conduct an executive search for a Chief Operating Officer.

 Shenandoah Valley-Westminster Canterbury (SVWC), located in Winchester, Virginia, is a faith-based, not-for-profit Life Plan retirement community situated on 87 beautiful, wooded acres in Winchester, Virginia with sponsorship from the Episcopal and Presbyterian churches. The community offers independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, long-term care, memory care, and therapy services, and is home to over 500 residents.

 SVWC is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the community in meeting the needs of the next generation. Reporting to the President & CEO, this individual will be a hands-on, articulate leader experienced in operational oversight of a similar setting, with a deep commitment to supporting the SVWC mission and goals. A passion for senior living, caring approach to leading others and outstanding interpersonal skills are central to success.

 The successful candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s degree (master’s highly preferred) and ideally 7 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience in aging services or related fields. Our finalist will demonstrate sound knowledge of campus operations, including dining, environmental services, resident services, and clinical services. Excellent financial acumen and community relations experience prioritized. The COO will be highly visible to residents and serve as an ambassador for Shenandoah Valley-Westminster Canterbury. A current Nursing Home Administrator license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or willingness to obtain post-hire is highly desirable.
