 The Corporate Director of Environmental Services is responsible for the oversight and supervision of the security, laundry, housekeeping, physical plant maintenance and renovation functions of the organization, while maintaining compliance with operating standards, procedures and regulatory requirements. The Corporate Director of Environmental Services supports each of our communities by offering vision and guidance to best practices, compliance and a clean, attractive and safe atmosphere for all to live and work. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Supporting Our Values through Action

·       Supports the mission, values and code of conduct of Presbyterian Senior Living

·       Interacts with internal and external customers in a way that demonstrates Presbyterian Senior Living’s commitment to courtesy, service, and hospitality

 

Oversight and Administration

·       Leads the environmental services function for Presbyterian Senior Living including maintenance and renovations, housekeeping, laundry, transportation and grounds keeping.

·       Leads the development, maintenance and execution of the Emergency and Disaster Plans.

·       Leads the development and implementation of the safety program policies and procedures

·       Ability to negotiate and implement contracts and oversee renovation projects as needed in collaboration with the VP of Development.

·       Supports, cooperates with and participates in the adherence to all Presbyterian Senior Living standards, procedures and practices in support of risk management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and overall safety of the organization.

 Management Responsibilities

·       Develops, implements and maintains environmental services policies, procedures and objectives in adherence to regulatory standards of practice.

·       Conducts routine visits and audits of communities’ environmental services programs

·       Assists in the recruitment and interviewing Directors of Environmental Services for Presbyterian Senior Living communities

·       Provides guidance, support and encouragement to the care team with a focus on vision and purpose and promotes dignity

·       Works collaboratively with our insurance carrier, local providers and Team of Residents and Colleagues to reduce organizational risk and implement a culture of safety.

·       Facilitates communication among the care team, supporting information sharing and problem-solving

Qualifications

Your Experience Includes

 

1.       Five or more years of direct experience in a related position normally required, A BS in Engineering, management or business preferred

2.       Knowledge of State and Federal regulations, including but not limited to DOH, DHS, OSHA, CARF and Life Safety

3.       Demonstrated knowledge of physical plant maintenance and renovations, housekeeping and laundry operations

4.       Knowledge of health care regulatory, risk management and safety processes  

5.       Demonstrated success in managing within large and complex organizations

6.       Demonstrated knowledge of construction and architectural procedures, ability to read and interpret blue prints, specifications and contracts

7.       Demonstrated communication and decision-making skills
