As a Medicaid Enrollment Specialist you will carry out our Mission of Love by being responsible for coordinating the application and eligibility for Medical Assistance or other financial assistance benefits for eligible residents.

Our Medicaid Enrollment Specialist is responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for timely communication with residents and families to assist with application for Medical Assistance or other financial assistance benefits.
  • Initiate and conduct regular phone, e-mail, and other communications with residents, Social Services, HIM/clinics, family members, and various agencies.
  • Review and process Medicaid applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. Responsible for tracking and follow up of renewal of benefits, including documentation/saving of all appropriate information.
  • Provide excellent customer service to resident applications for SSI, Medicare buy-in, PACE, VA benefits and notify appropriate agency when benefits must change.
  • Communication with the County Assistance Office or other appropriate agencies when there is a change in level of care, income, change in eligibility or admission status.
  • Initiate and track Resource Assessments and assist families with completion.
  • Provide assistance with direct deposit of income, collection of patient pay, cash posting and collection activities as necessary.
  • Accurately document payer, resident liability, and income deduction information in billing system, document and communicate as appropriate.
  • Additional cross training and duties as assigned.

What You Have:

  • Strong understanding of resource assessment and Medicaid application practices for skilled nursing facility.
  • Accounting degree and two years of experience in a skilled nursing facility setting preferred.
  • Excellent organization, communication and follow up skills.
  • Experience with the PROMISE and DHS websites required.
