Essential Duties and Functions 

 

  • Prepare bank reconciliations and handle reconciliation of open items such as outstanding checks 
  • Perform detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability analysis. 
  • Monitor and manage cash flow and working capital. 
  • Prepare and maintain recording of daily deposits and cash receipts in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Review Accounts Payable aging and vendor statements for problems. Serves as backup for Accounts Payable. 
  • Oversee the accounts payable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. 
  • Identify and code expenses to their proper department.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of financial accounting transactions, journal entries, etc. 
  • Prepare, verify, and enter all journal entries; one-time, standard, recurring, reversals. 
  • Assist with maintenance of fixed asset and WIP schedules and related journal entries. 
  • Monthly general ledger analysis and reconciliation. 
  • Prepare, record, and reconcile accounts receivable and payroll entries from accounting systems.  
  • Review corporate financial statements with the Controller to ensure that information is accurate. 
  • Communicate with other departments, management, and external parties (e.g., auditors, tax authorities) to provide financial information and support. 
  • Monitor internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. 
  • Analysis of monthly trial balance with corrections and follow-up as necessary. 
  • Assist in controlling annual expenditures and streamline the data processing support. 
  • Coordinate monthly closing and production of departmental financial statements to guarantee timely reporting.
  • Assists with maintaining and implementing internal controls, procedures, and policies 
  • Assists with preparing for the annual audit. 
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement processes to enhance efficiency and compliance. 
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting policies, and support the implementation of any audit recommendations.
  • Supervise the accountants' work and help train departmental policies and standard operating procedures. 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications include: 

 

  • Minimum of 5 years in an accounting role, preferred experience in a healthcare setting.  
  • Strong analytical skills required    

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field.
