  • The future is now for Quincy Village dining department: Robotic servers are joining the staff

    Some of us are old enough to remember Rosie the robot on the 1970's Jetsons cartoon who cleaned, did the laundry, cooked and more for the Space-Age family from the 21st century. Now we have Roomba's at home doing the vacuuming for us and Alexa devices to turn the lights on and off with the sound of our voice. Quincy Village, a Presbyterian Senior Living (PSL) community, is embracing the wave of technology by adding a robotic server to help support dining staff and serve residents.

  • Report finds PA nursing homes Medical Assistance underfunded by nearly $1.2B

    LeadingAge PA today announced that Pennsylvania’s nursing homes were underfunded by nearly $1.2 billion in Medicaid in 2019-2020, according to a report commissioned by the Association. To begin helping address this inequity, LeadingAge PA is calling for state lawmakers to approve a $294 million increase in funding for the 2022-23 state budget.

    UPMC and Harrisburg University today announced the opening of the UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing at UPMC Harrisburg. The new school will help bring more critically important nurses to the region and give area residents the opportunity to pursue a career in nursing through an affordable, accelerated program.

  • Presbyterian Senior Living CEO announces retirement

    Presbyterian Senior Living (PSL) has announced that James Bernardo, President and CEO will retire at the end of 2022. Mr. Bernardo has been employed at PSL for 37 years, serving in a number of positions from Executive Director to Chief Operating Officer and for the last three years as President and CEO.
